An assortment of deluxe sherries provided by Lustau.

1. Lustau Emperatriz Eugenia Oloroso

31st Jan 1998 GBP14 Sherry Fortified Other

Pale mahogany colour fading to ochre.
Nutty, toasted, spicy oak aromas with a trace of caramel.
Dry, medium bodied sherry with flavours of caramel and toasted oak, quite high alcohol levels and a long, clean finish.
An ideal match for goulash or rich broth

2. Lustau Bodega Vieja Amontillado

31st Jan 1998 GBP20 Sherry Fortified Other

Paler in colour than the previous wine, nut brown fading to ochre.
Restrained and subtle on the nose, invitingly nutty.
A rounded, medium bodied, dry sherry, with sweet fruit, nut and toasty oak flavours.
A delicate style with a long, impressive finish

3. Lustau del Tonel Oloroso

31st Jan 1998 GBP20 Sherry Fortified Other

Pale mahogany fading to ochre at the rim.
Restrained but appetising, tangy, citrussy nose of raisins and orange peel.
Full bodied with spicy, alcoholic raisin fruit, chocolate and toasted oak. Warm, rich, soft texture and superb balance - sweet but not at all cloying. Long, long finish.

4. Lustau Las Cruces Moscatel

31st Jan 1998 GBP20 Sherry Fortified Other

Deep mahogany fading to ochre.
Full and pungent, floral nose of chocolate raisins and aniseed with plenty of alcohol evident.
Full bodied, sweet, multifaceted, mouth-filling flavours of raisins, chocolate, grapes and citrus, superbly balanced with crisp citrus acidity and a long floral finish.
Perfect with strong blue cheeses

5. Lustau Murillo Pedro Ximinez

31st Jan 1998 GBP20 Sherry Fortified Other

Deep mahogany fading to ochre.
Piercing alcoholic and flowery nose of raisins, toffee and caramel.
Full bodied and thickly textured palate of honey, molasses and burnt raisins. Long and luscious finish.
A slightly overwhelming monster that would make a nice pudding in its own right!
