1999 Tenuta di Valgiano Cesari

5th May 2001 Colline Lucchesi & Montecarlo Table Red

[Cask sample, with 2 to 3 weeks in bottle]
Lush, with soft mulberry/red/blackcurrant fruit. Much softer acidity than the Cesari 1998, finer tannins (dusty) and flavours of liquorice, mint and plums. Firm and long, much less aggressive.
Very good, but still needs another 5 or so years to show its best.
