1996 Grosset Gaia Cab Sauv/Merlot/Cab Franc

Opaque purple, paling gradually.
Intense nose of stewed black fruits, violets, herbs - lots of alcohol (Someone described it as 'Radox in a glass'!)
Medium bodied, rich and leathery, with cassis and black cherry flavours.
Ripe tannins and fruity acids - could almost be Italian.
Long finish.
Utterly gorgeous now with rich foods, has at least 5 years ahead of it.
