1996 Jayer Gilles Hautes Cotes de Nuits

Pale, even red.
Smoked bacon and toasted oak on the nose, quite dumb but hints of redcurrant fruit.
Medium to full bodied. A rich, warm mouthful of red fruits and apple pips.
Grapey acidity and oak on the finish.
Lovely now and over the next 4 to 5 years.
