1996 Von Ortloff Merlot

Red fading gradually to pink at rim.
Rairly tight, crisp, fresh black cherry fruit and integrated oak on the nose.
Light to medium bodied with crunchy cassis and black cherry flavours. Lively acidity and a long, warm, peppery oak finish with dusty tannins.
Very attractive now - a good 'luncheon claret' style.
