Tasted Blind:
Deep purple to red/pink rim. Plenty of sediment. Good legs. Fairly mature, hot climate.
Mature, developed nose of stewed black fruit, plenty of alcohol, spicy old oak [- developed Italian ?].
Medium to full-bodied, spicy fruit, pepper, oak. Well rounded, plenty of alcohol, good acidity, rounded and weighty. Long, thick, dry finish with tarry, tobacco notes.
Lovely now with rich meat sauces. Should keep developing.
[One of the few wines I've collared in blind tastings - I'd tasted it recently and it was a favourite!]
